Unable to sync - Error unable to connect to Google Calendar

This program used to work great, but it hasn't for the past few months. I updated to Version 2.3.0 but I have the same problem. I get an Error message: Unable to connect to the Google Calendar. Then I get a Test Internet Access box saying "Please ensure you can access the internet with Internet Explorer. Test it now?...".
I say Yes and Internet Explorer (version 11) pops up but another note comes up saying "The synchonisation failed - check the Sync tab for further details". If I try again, I just get another IE window open.

I mostly use Firefox for a browser, but I don't ever remember Outlook Google Calendar Sync bringing up IE before. It just synced.

Don't know what to try next.

As per Issue 318, this issue should be fixed from v2.3.3.
